What is Tarot?
The Tarot is a deck of cards that began over 500 years before in northern Italy. Even though the Tarot was at first used in a game called Triumphs, it was quickly adopted as a tool for divination, and popularized by occult organizations including the Hermetic Order of the Golden Dawn. The early Tarot symbolism was deeply rooted in Old and Renaissance Europe, but over the centuries it has grown to combine many methods from Astrology and Kabbalah to Runes (which predate the Tarot by a thousand years) and the I actually Ching (which predates the Tarot by 2500 years). Today, the Tarot is by far the most popular tool for psychic introspection in the Western world.
